Job Description:

As Chief Financial Officer, you will bring a strategic focus and ensure long term financial sustainability of the Council. You will join a dynamic, innovative and forward thinking senior leadership team and play an active role in contributing to shaping our ambitious strategic vision of Lake Macquarie. You will lead the financial services team, including our procurement function and support and coach our business leaders with financial decision-making. You will drive a commitment to continuous improvement and work closely with your teams to uncover opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, effectiveness and customer experience.

Job Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree or higher, in accounting, finance, commerce.
A Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant qualification.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience influencing and negotiating with all levels within a highly diverse organisation.
Demonstrated ability to navigate and balance conflicting needs and expectations of stakeholders, while balancing corporate and social responsibilities and resource constraints in a way that drives the best outcomes for the City
