The Role
Undertake inquiries and investigations into matters concerning Defence pursuant to the Inspector-General of the Australian Defence Force Regulation 201- Interview complainants, respondents and witnesses
- Produce high quality reports with evidencebased findings and recommendations
- Collect and manage sensitive material and protected information gathered during inquiries, investigations, and other activities
- Respond to enquiries from a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with other agencies or authorities
- Understand and comply with the agency risk management framework and relevant legislation

About our Team
The Office supports the Inspector-General of the Australian Defence Force to deliver their statutory functions of overseeing the effectiveness of the military justice system
The office has:
- Two 'enabling' directorates that provide administrative and legal support and
- Four 'output' directorates delivering the Inspector-General's statutory functions. These are
- Inquiries and Investigations,
- Military Justice Performance Review,
- Military Redress and Review, and
- Select Incident Review.
- Investigative or administrative inquiry experience would be beneficial
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with external stakeholders
- Ability to prioritise and concurrently manage multiple complex investigations and inquiries
- Ability to resolve complex issues in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
- Sound recordkeeping skills
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations, or commitment to quickly achieve that (via course work, recognition of prior learning or a combination of both).
