Description

We have a great opportunity for an internal part time (0.6 FTE) Disability Services Liaison in our Kent Town Head Office.

You will have the opportunity to develop purposeful community engagement relationships to promote and increase awareness of SYC's Disability Services.

You will also work intensively with young people with disability to support them to build their capacity for employment. This role will be required to travel across Elizabeth sites.


You will develop purposeful community engagement relationships to promote and increase awareness of SYC's disability services and maximise participant referrals.

This position will be reporting directly to the Disability Services Manager.

Day to day activities will include:

  • Engage and develop positive relationships with employers, service providers, community organisations and other stakeholders
  • Source referrals through the positive promotion of SYC School Leaver Employment Support (SLES)
  • Attend and represent SYC career and training expos, employer forums and other networking events
  • Collaborate with other SYC services to develop new connections for participants
  • Engage and work effectively with NDIS participants to deliver direct practical support services and achieve agreed outcomes.

About You

  • Excellent communication skills with welldeveloped interpersonal, verbal, and written skills, and the ability to conduct client assessments, developing case plans and case notes and report writing
  • Selfmotivation and initiative, with welldeveloped time management and organisational skills with and the ability to meet deadlines and attend to multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding of The NDIS, education, training and employment options to young people.
  • Previous experience in government employment services
  • Experience in achieving outcomes with mínimal supervision and direction

For this role you will need to:

  • Hold and maintain an approved First Aid Certificate and CPR certificate
  • Possession of a current valid Driver's licence and willingness to drive
  • Be willing to complete a NDIS Check
  • Prepared to work from, or be located at, any SYC site.
