Over $9 million has been allocated since 2000 through strategic grants and innovative solutions.
The Head of Foundation role entails overseeing all aspects of the foundation, with significant interaction across the business and responsibility for defining strategic direction, partnerships, fund allocation, and performance evaluation to achieve impactful goals.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Strategy:
- Align "Strategic Grants" program with AEI's stewardship and advocacy priorities to enhance Foundation impact.
- Forge partnerships with aligned philanthropic partners to amplify Foundation's priority areas and AEI's stewardship efforts.
- Utilise research to adapt strategy according to emerging trends and methodologies.
- Recommend charities for funding to Foundation Board in line with strategic impact agenda.
Impact Reporting:
- Establish an impact measurement framework.
- Manage grantee impact reporting, including reviewing reports and meeting with charities if necessary.
Compliance:
- Ensure Foundation compliance with ACNC legislation and relevant regulations.
- Implement controls and frameworks for operational management.
Financial Management and Leadership:
- Present Foundation board papers and act on board resolutions.
- Maintain grant commitment and cashflow schedules.
- Prepare funding requisitions and finalise grant MOUs in a timely manner.
Project Management:
Communication:
- Handle public and internal inquiries about the Foundation.
- Engage AE staff with Foundation activities through presentations, volunteering opportunities, etc.
- Collaborate with marketing team to develop content for various platforms.
Qualifications / Experience Required
- 10+ years in philanthropic or NFP sector
- Degree qualified + Masters in Social Impact or equivalent
- Investment knowledge preferred
- Strategic mindset
- Partnership expertise and exceptional stakeholder management abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to collaborate within a team and work independently
- Deep understanding of the philanthropic sector, specifically in climate and nature philanthropy
