The Role

The Information Quality Officer is responsible for assisting the Senior Information Quality Manager in managing the implementation of the Air Force Records Remediation Project.

As part of the Information Management team, the Information Quality Officer assists in the maturation of Air Force's records management practices and behaviours by:


  • Assisting in the conduct of records management audits throughout Australia.
  • Assisting in the training of core and ad hoc audit staff.
  • Ensuring the integrity and quality of audits undertaken within the project.
  • Under direction, maintaining the policies, procedures, and guidance related to AF Records and projects.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to coordinate administrative elements of before, during, and after audits.
  • Under direction, performing aftercare actions with stakeholders following audits, including training and advice on records management behaviours and practices.
  • Championing effective records management behaviours and practices.

About our Team

Situated within Air Force Headquarters, the Information and Data Governance - Air Force (IDG-AF) directorate is charged with enabling Air Force to manage and use its information assets to support timely and effective decisions.

To achieve this, IDG-AF provides an array of information and data governance, policy, education, and compliance capabilities to Air Force.


IDG-AF has three teams that work closely together to achieve outcomes in a complex and interconnected domain this role is part of the Information Management team.

Information Management - Air Force's (IM-AF) purpose is to manage Air Force's governance functions for information management.

The IM-AF team ensures information management policies and procedures are current, align with broader Defence policies and legislation, are understood across Air Force, and are implemented effectively.
