We currently have a full-time 6-month contract position for an

Advisor - Project Risk and Safety Officer with our client who are a major rail company.


Your role will be to provide governance and ensure compliance with relevant risk and safety management systems for relocating a terminus in the Eastern suburbs.


Your day-to-day roles and responsibilities would include:

  • Ensure stakeholders (including internal employees, contractors, suppliers etc.) are adhering to safety management and related systems.
  • Provide guidance and advise in relation to the use of processes, tools, and methodologies to manage and demonstrate the management of risks.
  • Advise, monitor and assist personnel in the development and delivery of specific risk assessments throughout a project's lifecycle.
  • Ensure projects adhere to the Enterprise Risk Management requirements including the Safety in Design Procedure.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of and experience with risk management principles including SFAIRP
  • Tertiary qualifications in Safety, Risk, Engineering or related disciplines would be beneficial
  • Experience working in rail or related heavy industries would be beneficial (e.g. road, defence, oil & gas, mining, power, utilities, telco, construction, government)
  • Understanding of the Rail Safety National Law (RSNL), Rail safety Act, and/or Electrical Safety Regulations would be highly regarded
  • Experience with overhead power would be highly regarded
  • Good verbal and written skills including the ability to interface with various internal and external stakeholders
