A National Events & Engagement Manager is responsible to manage and lead hundreds of events every year and build an event strategy with a focus to support the recruitment strategy for ADF.

Description


The Events and Engagement Manager is responsible for creating and delivering a nationwide event strategy, maximising exposure and budget and amplifying high value events to support national recruitment targets.


Reporting to the Head of Recruiting Operations, this role is responsible for identifying innovative ways to increase exposure for the services.

This role is also responsible for leading successful and high performing Defence Career Discovery Centres (DCDC), nationally.


You will:


  • Lead and strategically drive a national, whole of DFR approach to Events and Engagement.
  • Lead a high performing team, focussed on delivering a variety of high and low value events through concept development, sponsorship management, promotion and driving awareness of mobile/pop up events, contribution to paid media, editorial and social media campaigns.
  • Lead a high performing team, focussed on creating, maintaining and driving interest in a career with Defence.
  • Take entire ownership of the Profit & Loss, ensuring profitability, revenue and target expectations are met.
  • Lead, coach, and develop delivery functions and leaders to ensure delivery excellence and exceptional management performance.
  • Develop leadership capability, ensuring a strong talent pipeline is maintained for key roles.
  • Review and analyse operational performance on a quarterly basis.
  • Implement and drive a proactive approach to events and engagement, leveraging data insights, trends, reports and outputs of activities, as well as the input of key stakeholders across DFR.
  • Create and maintain regular reporting and review cycles
  • Successfully partner and work with Defence and subcontractors to ensure a integrated approach to events and engagement and hence, target achievement.

Profile


To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience of 10+ years with a professional broad-spectrum knowledge in end-to-end event management and a bachelors' degree in Hospitality, Event Management or Public Relations or relevant field.


Your background will demonstrate:


  • Indepth experience in staging and facilitating largescale events
  • Ability to create marketspecific, engaging content
  • Passion for beautiful design and branding.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in design software and leading Social Media platforms
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with colleagues, clients, vendors, and stakeholders of all levels of management.

  • Flexibility to work variable hours, including weekends and evenings, depending on event schedules.
