About the role:


The commercial manager will be a key member of the project team and is required to assess and control contractual risk and entitlement whilst providing contract management support to the project team.


You will be responsible to:


  • Ensuring appropriate understanding and administration of the contract to preserve Company rights and entitlements at all times
  • Establish systems and registers to ensure timely recognition, submission and certification of claims in accordance with contract requirements
  • Assist the Project Director with quantification and submission of monthly progress claims
  • Assist the Project Director with internal cost reporting and forecasting, including monthly presentation to the board.
  • Provide guidance to the project team on contract adherence, change management and record keeping
  • Guide the dispute resolution process for any disputes that may arise during project execution
  • Work collaboratively with the project team, including our Client, to continuously identify opportunities to innovate and improve current commercial practices

About you:


To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • University degree in law, engineering, quantity surveying or construction management
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in administration of large ITC contracts
  • Proven experience in analysis, administration and negotiation of contractual risk and entitlement
  • Demonstrable experience and success in resultsoriented dispute resolution
  • A good understanding of construction contract law in Australia and Australian standard forms of contract.
  • Sound commercial acumen accompanied by proven negotiation and clear, definitive communication.
