Playgroup NSW supports and delivers a range of strengths-based programs and playgroup related engagements to its 50,000 member families, including but not limited to: Universal community volunteer led programs; Targeted early intervention and preventative programs specifically for children and families experiencing vulnerabilities, and for children with a disability and their carers; Programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse families; Perinatal mental and parent/child mental health programs, and Intergenerational programs including older Australians.


For nearly 50 years, playgroups have been a fundamental community building block, creating vital social networks in which children, parents, grandparents, and carers play together, share knowledge and experiences, connect, and grow stronger as a community.

There are Playgroup organisations in all states and territories.

Role Purpose


MyTime is a national program of facilitated peer support groups for parents and carers of children with disability, developmental delay, or chronic medical condition.

MyTime provides face-to-face peer support groups for parents/carers, with a facilitator for parents and a play leader for preschool aged children.

Parents or caregivers with a child up to age 18 years, who requires a higher level of care than other children, may attend.


The objective of MyTime is to establish and maintain peer support groups that increase parents/carers feelings of support in their caring role.


About the Role

Program/Project Management

  • Participate in project team, as the MyTime program expert, to deliver the requirements of the MyTime program.
  • Lead and manage the operations of a range of programs against contractual obligations to meet funding requirements
- enhance service delivery

  • Ongoing monitoring, recording and evaluation of data and processes to allow for continuous improvement.
  • Execute and maintain all contract deliverables delivering project plans in line with contract requirements.
  • Manage reporting schedule and complete reports for review by leadership within allocated deadlines directed by our funders.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure scope of services and session attendance levels are met per MyTime program requirements.
  • Ensure MyTime team members have the necessary minimum qualification and experiential requirements.
  • Ensure MyTime team members have adequate allocation of time to undertake all activities associated with group delivery
  • Ensure all MyTime team members complete PRC's orientation and other training as required by PRC.
  • Ensure each MyTime team member receives necessary training relating to the collection of relevant data, prior to first session.

Coaching and Supporting Team members

  • Support positive community awareness of groups.
  • Support Facilitators, Educators and Play Leaders to achieve minimum attendance and registration levels of the MyTime program.
  • Provide training and resources to PGNSW team members, specifically My Time Facilitators to meet administrative and reporting requirements of the MyTime program.

Engagement with local disability organisations

  • Build relationships with local Peak Disability Organisations, Disability Family Organisations and ECEI providers to identify families for referral into My Time programs and playgroup programs where applicable.
  • Develop and implement inclusive activities/events in collaboration with Peak Disability Organisations.
  • Promote the benefits of My Time program outcomes for children, families, and community.
  • Partner with Marketing & Communications team to create a communication strategy to:
  • engage local disability organisations, and
- encourage participation by families.
