As Provisional Fellow at Frankston Hospital you will be part of a collaborative and supportive team of 60 consultants, 23 trainees, 4 acute pain clinical nurse consultants, 1 research nurse and 2 personal assistants providing anaesthetic care for a broad range of specialties (general, orthopaedics, thoracics, urology, vascular, ENT, fasciomax, obstertrics, gyanaecology, paediatric, radiology, cardiology and ECT. We have 15 theatres across two campuses, supporting a busy emergency department and delivery suite in addition to elective surgery.

We are offering 4 general fellowship positions with the option to focus on one of the following subspecialties: Simulation and Education, Regional Anaesthesia, Research, Perioperative Medicine or Anaesthetic Anaphylaxis.

What You Will Be Doing

Provision of anaesthetic care of paediatric and adult patients in the Operating Theatres (10) of Frankston Hospital and Frankston Public Surgical Centre (5). (including preoperative and postoperative care)
Support junior trainees in the provision of Acute Pain Service
Support junior trainees in the provision of Labour Epidural Analgesia in the Birthing Suite (~3000 deliveries/year)
Provision of care when required in the care of critically unwell patients in the wards or emergency department.
Participate in quality assurance and other departmental activities such as audits, research and special projects as required
Participate in wellbeing and welfare support of junior trainees

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

AHPRA Registration
Completed ANZCA Trainee requirements
Completed (or expected to complete before commencement) ANZCA Final Exam
Ability to work dynamically and collaboratively.
