The opportunity


This role is accountable for leading and driving effective portfolio governance capability, ensuring the successful delivery of prioritised projects, and realising the agreed benefits.


This role will have end to end responsibility for support to key management committees and assists the Head of Enterprise Delivery to ensure broader corporate governance requirements are in place and well managed.

Preparing reports for various governance forums and committee's such as Executive Project Board (EPB), Technology & Projects (T&P) Committee, UniSuper Board meeting etc.

as per schedule.

In addition to this you will deliver the following:


  • Holistic interrelated view of the portfolio (e.g., financials, project health, benefits realisation) that enables decision making as a portfolio rather than by individual project.
  • Consistent standards, methods, tools, and data in place that provide a portfolio view.
  • Consistent and seamless business case and change request review and endorsement cycles that are traceable and to an auditable standard.
  • Capability uplift, clarity and understanding organisation wide of simplified portfolio governance standards and processes making it easy for business stakeholders to navigate the portfolio governance landscape.
  • Leading Portfolio Governance to develop and implement consistent and effective governance pathways and reporting of the project portfolio.
  • Optimising the project portfolio by driving relevant and valuable insights and providing recommendations relating to project investment and performance, project assurance and benefits realisation to enable effective decision making by Executive Leadership.
  • Portfolio operations: governance forums and meetings, change request processes, funding release cycles, portfolio reporting and recommendations, support business case development conducted by the business, manage the review and endorsement / approval processes.
  • Support and guidance to business sponsors and project delivery teams in relation to developing high quality business cases, navigating the portfolio governance landscape throughout the project delivery lifecycle.
  • Consistent governance standards (encompassing risks, issues, financials, supply / demand, schedules, benefits) driving cooperation, adherence and ownership from project delivery teams and business sponsors and owners.
  • Advocacy for portfolio governance; engagement, awareness and education driving collaboration, developing ownership and accountability from business stakeholders.
  • Continuous improvement to portfolio governance tools and processes pursuing higher standards, improved efficiencies, and overall quality.
  • Easily accessible resources, guidance, templates and tools for business stakeholders and project delivery teams.
