About The Opportunity
The Liverpool and Fairfield Community Mental Health Services work in Liverpool, Fairfield and surrounding areas.

These teams work out of a number of sites including the Mental Health Centre at Liverpool Hospital and Fairfield Community Health Centre at Carramar.

Early Psychosis Intervention Program (EPIP)


The Early Psychosis Service provides early intervention and specialist treatment services for young people between the ages of 16 and 25 years who are experiencing first episode or recent onset psychosis.

The Service is based at Liverpool and provides care for consumers and their families from both the Liverpool and Fairfield LGAs.

Both LGAs have significant populations from CALD backgrounds. EPIP is primarily a community-based service but also manages a typically small number of inpatients in Liverpool Hospital.

All SWSLHD Mental Health Service staff are committed to patient safety and quality care.

The service maintains current accreditation with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards against its EQuIPNational program and survey against the National Standards for Mental Health Services.

What you'll be doing
Provide clinical management and treatment of patients in a SWSLHD facility under your care.

This care will be provided within the clinical privileges granted by the CE on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  • Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Health Insurance Act 197
  • Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
  • Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing selfeducation and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level
  • Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD oncall roster
  • Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
