Chandler Macleod is currently recruiting for an experienced

APS5 & APS6 Fraud Investigator to join a leading Federal Government agency. This is an immediate start with a contract term of

12 months and based in

Surry Hills.

Role description:


The APS5 Fraud Investigator

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the planning and production of financial intelligence outputs and outcomes.
  • Collecting financial and other information and undertaking a range of analytical tools to assist in producing tactical financial intelligence reports.
  • Working closely with management, operational teams and external partner agencies to ensure that intelligence outputs are supporting the strategic and operational needs.
  • Contributing to the development of business rules, refinements and suggested avenues of analysis and investigation.
  • Identifying emerging intelligence risks and evolving methodologies in relation to the participants, partners and providers.
  • Conducting formal and informal discussions with staff, customers and third parties to obtain required information.
  • Providing ongoing intelligence support for matters referred for investigation.
  • Providing administrative support to the team and supporting complex projects.

The APS6 Fraud Investigator
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Analysing and processing information to produce accurate and informative reports.
  • Conducting formal and informal discussions with staff and partners, participants, providers and third parties.
  • Undertaking and managing complex and sensitive investigations in accordance with processes and legislation.
  • Gathering evidence from a range of sources and preparing high quality briefs of evidence.
  • Preparing cases for referral to relevant parties
  • Providing evidence in criminal and civil court as a representative.
  • Undertaking administration, reporting and project work as required.

To be successful in the position you must have:

  • Certificate 1V in Government (Investigation), or equivalent.
  • Have or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1".
