SCMS School Builders is undergoing sustained growth and is looking for a Site Supervisor to join our team where you will be responsible for all aspects of building and construction including:


DUTIES:


  • Supervision of subcontractors
  • Strong level of coordination with trades & materials. Has the ability to pre plan resourcing with trades & in house team with 24 weeks lookahead via onsite whiteboard planning.
  • Gathers strong understanding from the trades how long things will take, lead times, critical path points and how trades can flow behind one another in strong sequencing.
  • Ability to manage various trades on site to ensure site efficiencies are carried out
  • Extremely strong interpretation of the construction drawings inc cross referencing of services/structural & specifications
  • Strong understanding of scope of works and abides by this in conjunction with abovementioned plans & specs
  • Strong communication with the office by carrying out daily logs with photos demonstrating progress, flagging project risks and pre planned works
  • Is wary of site surroundings to mitigate any site incidents or issues
  • Can carry out OH&S duties such as site sign ins, inductions, SWMS review, recorded tool box meetings & weekly safety walks
  • Has had experience of site supervising projects of values between $500k$1m or similar scope to this project
  • Liaising with relevant project stakeholders
  • Assist Construction Manager with daily tasks
  • Has the ability to source quotations from multiple suppliers
  • Coordination of multiple trades to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Maintain safe and operational site at all times including amenities and OH&S requirements
  • Review and ensuring of installation compliance
  • Ensure workspaces are safe and ready for trades on site and scheduled to arrive, to ensure scope of works being undertaken are aligned with construction programs
  • Being able to work hands on carpentry & labouring duties when it's necessary to assist the team

To be considered for this role you need to have most of the following requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience supervising commercial construction projects with specific experience in the finishing of projects.
  • Understand the importance of communicating and building long term, constructive relationships with clients, trades and external stakeholders
  • Have excellent people and strong communication skills
  • Proven experience managing subcontractors to ensure delivery of projects within specific timelines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills along with the ability to motivate people
  • Considerable knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, materials and work standards related to the construction of projects
  • The ability to identify defects or problems provocatively and take the necessary actions to rectify or prevent problems efficiently
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, organisational and planning abilities with a passion for working in a fastpaced environment
  • Is a self starter
  • Be open to continuous learning and development
  • Valid Driver's Licence, White Card (Construction Induction) and working with Children's Check and if subcontractor a valid insurance.
