The Role
Strategy, Policy, and Industry Group is seeking Program Managers to contribute to the Department of Defence's key policy and national security functions to protect and further Australia's national interests.
Your role would be to lead teams that strengthen Australia's national security and economic resilience by using your leadership and program management skills to deliver programs across a range of industry policy and international policy areas.
The Program Manager roles in Strategy, Policy, and Industry Group are highly varied but they all involve leading and developing high-performing teams to deliver national security objectives.
On a daily basis, your team's work could range from translating Government policy into implementable programs to improve industry skills, finding export trade opportunities, implementing grants programs, gifting materiel, or developing overseas infrastructure.
Such roles would need you to deal directly with industry and Defence stakeholders to ensure the programs support strategic objectives and are fit for purpose.
We are looking for people who have an eye for detail, test standard ways of achieving objectives, and continue to strive to develop innovative programs to meet strategic goals.
No two days would be the same - guiding your team's work to deliver critical programs to meet key Government objectives, conducting meetings to support and influence stakeholders, briefing Defence's Senior Leadership, consulting with other government agencies, and contributing to corporate transformational change.
