What is the role?


Join our dynamic Education and Professional Learning (EPL) Team and be at the forefront of enhancing the Australian Federal Police's (AFP) investigative process.

We are dedicated to developing cutting-edge flexible learning solutions tailored to our clients' needs, boosting the AFP's investigations capability.


As part of the EPL Team nestled within the broader Investigations Standards and Practices (ISP) portfolio, you'll champion best practices and elevate investigative standards.

You will be the primary collector and editor of digital materials to support the uplifting of the AFP's Investigative Capability.

We are on the lookout for a skilled individual to fill this vital support role within the team.

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.

It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

As a Team Member supporting the Education and Professional Learning Team (EPL) within Investigations Standards and Practices (ISP) the successful applicant would be expected to:
Develop high quality learning solutions to enhance AFP and Commonwealth partner agencies' investigative capabilities.
Shoot and edit video and photographs to an industry standard using existing Mac, Adobe and Sony platforms.
Utilise Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere, Photoshop and Lightroom or Bridge to develop engaging learning support materials.
Design content to foster learning and encourage critical thinking.
Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in educational products and processes.
Stay updated on technology and design principles for creating engaging learning resources.
Identify critical capability gaps in investigations and learning strategies.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify emerging trends in investigations and learning.
Demonstrate an understanding of legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks relevant to the Investigations Capability and Learning and Development Command.
Manage project tasks including timelines, tracking project activities, supplier liaison and reporting as necessary.
Essential Requirements
A Negative Vetting 1 security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Strong attention to detail.
Good oral and written communication skills.
A high level of understanding of the role and function of the AFP.
Desirable Requirements
Experience in developing and designing educational products.
Additional Information
This position has been advertised in multiple locations however, the role is located in Canberra, ACT. Successful applicants must be willing to relocate to Canberra.
