We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Operations Officer at our Kewdale depot, supporting the Network Investigations Team within our Technical Operations area on a Permanent Full-Time basis.


About this role


As the Business Operations Officer you will be required to perform specialised office-based systems and administrative business operations support activities including but not restricted to cost management, document management, analysis, estimating coordination, reporting and process improvement to enable and support to the efficient utilisation of internal and external resources to meet the AWP, legislative requirements, and Western Powers customer charter targets.


Key Accountabilities

  • Liaise with customers to receive work details and assess work requirements.
  • Provide effective feedback to both internal and external customers to advise on work progress.
  • Plan and coordinate the execution of less complex work orders, balancing available resources with customer priorities. This will include the support documentation in engagement of contractors to undertake smallscale works as directed.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support e.g. to the Team Leader in planning work schedules for Network Investigations teams for Emergency Response Generators, HV Cable Testers and Power Quality Investigations
  • Manage own work to meet operational and legislative requirements.
  • Work and Job packaging as requirements as needed
  • Produce and manage required documentation for invoicing, purchasing, and monitoring purposes.
  • Manage the invoicing processes
  • Reconcile work orders and compile regular progress reports for the Team Leader.
  • Provide expenditure reports including a measure of actual costs versus estimates. Identify and highlight any variances to the Team Leader.
  • Assist in the response to system or unplanned emergencies.
  • Maintain asset register registration, update, and record inspection due dates.
  • Provide fieldbased systems support and coaching on relevant Western Power systems, as required to perform the role.
  • Perform document and file management for section.

About you
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

  • Completion of Year 12 with English and Mathematics or equivalent demonstrated work experience
  • Minimum 5 + years demonstrated specialised experience in an administrative/support position
  • Experience and proficiency in computerized office systems
  • Experience in cost management, analysis, estimating coordination, reporting and process improvement
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to deliver high quality, professional, customer focused business support services
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
