  • The Manager Innovation and Digital Services provides leadership and management to enable the Department to deliver high quality, effective, efficient and secure Digital services that achieve strategic and operational goals. The position is responsible for the operational and strategic management of the Department's Innovation and Digital Services staff, Online Services, Business Systems Services, Project Services and associated strategies, policy and governance. This includes staff and vendor management, technology procurement, program and change management, and budget, risk and issue management. Close liaison with internal and external stakeholders is required to ensure that the Department's Digital functions are undertaken in a coordinated, efficient, effective and ethical manner.

Hours per fortnight:

Duties:


  • Manage and provide leadership, guidance, mentoring, and support to the Innovation and Digital Services team, their activities, wellbeing, professional development and performance management including managing services undertaken by external contractors and vendors.
  • Ensure that the Department's Digital technology is developed and supported in accordance with contemporary best practice, industry standards, and Government policy; Responsibility for the daytoday operations, management, maintenance and security of the Department's Digital services, including but not limited to Online services, Business Systems development and support and Project support services.
  • Leading ICT projects and change management programs within the Department focused on maintaining quality Digital services and transforming the Department to new Digital service delivery models aligned with the Department's and wholeofgovernment Strategies. This includes leading staff and clients through significant change with a focus on digital literacy and engagement.
  • Actively supporting, leading or contributing to the development and implementation of the Departmental and Whole of Government ICT Strategies and associated policies, projects and programs facilitated by the development of key stakeholder relationships, both internal and external.
Responsibilities may include;
- representation in high level external forums;

  • Represent the Department at wholeofgovernment and interagency forums in matters relating to technology issues, and act as an Agency's contact for negotiations with related agencies and stakeholders.
  • Negotiation and resolution of complex issues;
  • Presentation of information to key stakeholders;
  • Preparation of highlevel briefings, correspondence, reports and submissions.
  • Provide high level research, analysis, solution architecture and recommendations in relation to the strategic development, design and implementation of digital services and systems together with implementing processes designed to maintain high system standards and quality data.
  • Provide highlevel authoritative policy advice to the Manager, Information and Technology Services and the Director, Corporate Services on the development and support of technology and related infrastructure.
  • Resolve complex and conflicting technical situations between internal and external stakeholders to determine strategic direction in complex situations.

Desirable Requirements:

Appropriate tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
