Job Title

Data Management Officer

Job Description:

An excellent opportunity is available for a Data Management Officer to join the Research Support Program at Australia's pre-eminent biomedical research institute.

About the Position

WEHI established a Research Support Program (RSP) in 2017 with the objective to modernise and transform data management, processes, and systems across the Institute.

Under the RSP umbrella, we have implemented an Electronic Lab Notebook system (LabArchive) and a new ERP solution (Workday).

A new Research Information Management (RIM) system is now being implemented under the RSP portfolio.

The RIM system will collate researchers' data such as their biography, affiliations, scholarly outputs, projects, grants and many more from multiple data sources.

The system will feed data into downstream systems, including a new public-facing Researcher Profiles Portal to increase the discoverability of our researchers, their expertise and the impact they have on biomedical research.

This position will be responsible for collecting, migrating and ensuring the data is clean and ready for the system's launch.

This includes activities such as data gathering, data mapping, data cleaning and data manipulation to ensure the data can be displayed as intended in the RIM system.

This position will report to the Project Manager and work closely with the external vendor and other key stakeholders to ensure all data deliverables are met within the approved timeline.

There may be opportunities to be involved in other projects within the Research Support Program.
