Mechanical Sheetmetal Installer - Sydney, Australia - ICR Air Conditioning

Description

This role requires a high level of involvement with the on-site activities of all aspects of the installation of sheetmetal in HVAC systems including managing of direct and subcontract labour as required.

• Read and understand workshop drawings and specifications.
• Thorough knowledge of sheetmetal onsite assembly and installation procedures
• Able to mark out and take measurements for duct pieces utilising appropriate instruments
• Skilled in using cutting tools, shears etc as required to fabricate sheetmetal components on site
• Experienced in joining and assembling of sheetmetal components in accordance with workshop drawings
• Work with team members, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure successful completion of the site aspects of mechanical services projects.
• Control all deliveries of material and equipment to site. Ensure due care is taken of all plant and equipment under their control
• Coordinate, in conjunction with the Project Manager, the progress of the project with the client or the client's representative.
• Interface with the client and other trades to establish good working relationships
• Program the site work on a day to day basis to ensure the job flows smoothly in conjunction with other trades
• Assist on matters such as budget cost reports, variation reports, subcontractor relationships etc.
• Control, monitor and report quality and safety performance on site on a daily basis utilizing information systems and agreed reporting formats.

• Practical and technical capability appropriate to onsite sheetmetal installer
• Proven past record of site supervision and relevant experience in sheetmetal installation 3 years minimum
• Prior experience working with digital management systems with strong knowledge of MS Office, Excel and Plangrid softwares highly regarded.
• Understanding and experience of commercial aspects of projects would be desirable.
