About the Company:

This organisation creates industry-leading software that affects everyone in Australia.

Part way through a major technology transformation and product re-imagination they are now looking for two Program Managers to lead major, multi-million-dollar and multi-year programs of work.

These are newly created roles and opportunities to set up a PMO practise.

As a strategic-minded Program Manager you will design whole programs of work, manage complex budgets, drive process improvement and set governance practices.


Role Overview:


As our Program Manager, you'll be at the heart of our product development and service projects, working closely with various stakeholders as well as shareholders to meet agreed objectives and deadlines.

This role is more strategic than tactical, focusing on long-term decisions that impact our organisation's future.

You'll be responsible for managing governance requirements, overseeing financials, and driving process improvement, all in the context of modern product development, working with empowered teams and in Agile development processes.


Key Responsibilities:


The Program Manager is responsible for scoping, structuring and accurately tracking assigned programs of work, resolving resourcing issues leveraging resource management processes, developing, and maintaining program documentation, preparing status and financial reports, and communicating agreed outcomes to customers and Senior Management via the portfolio management function.


  • Support and/or lead and manage the delivery of multistreamed tactical and/or strategic projects with a specific focus on improving the customer and stakeholder experience and ensuring they're represented holistically.
  • Prepare and integrate progress and other reports for governance boards using data derived from project and financial management tools, product development processes and other business data, with support from Product Managers.
  • Developing and managing overall program and individual project budgets, establishing regular program status and revenue reporting, managing financial aspects of all projects to achieve the agreed business outcomes.
  • Continually seek ways to improve the effectiveness and delivery of project and change management methodologies.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal stakeholders, customers and external parties to ensure the effective delivery of programs, through effective control, negotiation and consultation mechanisms.
  • Mentoring, supporting and regularly engaging staff and stakeholders to support and/or lead highperforming delivery teams.
  • Undertaking project health checks to ensure programs/projects are delivered in alignment with the organisation's enterprise architecture, strategy and project management methodologies.
  • Performing postimplementation program/project reviews to determine benefits realisation and achievement of overall objectives in line with overall corporate strategy.

Experience:


  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years' experience in managing project teams and major multimillion dollar projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in scheduling, resource, risk, and financial management.
  • Experience in IT environments and managing system deployments.
  • A mix of both government and commercial projects will be advantageous.
  • You are an excellent communicator that is able to influence at all levels.
