The Mineral Resources Division (MRD) responsibly unlocks the state's mineral resources, attracting sustainable investment through the generation of precompetitive geoscience and innovative data programs and are the lead regulator delivering sustainable development within technical, social and environmental expectations, that contributes to the transformation economy.


Key Selection Criteria:


  • Experience in working with legislation.
  • Experience in a customer service environment.
  • An understanding of opal mining practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and autonomously particularly when undertaking field work and operating technical equipment.

Remuneration:

OPS3 $65,606 - $69,919 per annum
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week


Special Conditions:


  • The position is based at Coober Pedy
:


  • Will require travelling long distances, out of hours work and overnight absences.
  • Field work on the Precious Stones Fields is required. The Precious Stones Fields are located in Andamooka, Coober Pedy and Mintabie.
  • The person will be appointed as a deputy opal mining registrar.
  • DEM encourages flexible working arrangements such as working from home, part time work, job share, compressed weeks and purchased leave. Arrangements are negotiated with the appropriate manager.
  • The incumbent will embrace diversity in all its forms and demonstrate inclusive behaviours in the workplace.
  • The incumbent will be required to maintain a safe working environment by adopting appropriate hazard management practices consistent with the role.
  • The incumbent is expected to uphold the ethical behaviour and professional integrity standards as contained in the _Public Sector Act 2009_, as well as comply with any other relevant legislated requirements.
