Experienced Fresh Meats Butchers Assistant required for one of Australia's leading Foodservice Company

The Role
We are searching for a skilled butchers assistant, the purpose of this role is to satisfactorily perform duties under the direction of the production Manager in the handling, packaging, weighing, and labelling of fresh meat and other like products in a chilled environment and undertake other duties within the production department as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Packing, wrapping, weighing & labelling meat in a presentable manner for the customers
- Maintain labeling of products ensuring PFD and HACCP requirements are being met
- Assist butcher in preparing crumbed cuts of meat, bonding & rolling fillets, scraping portions, marinating, and seasoning special cuts
- Assist butchers with preparing meat for processing
- Assist in operating filling machines, pickling, packings and mincing
- Assist with production machinery including Vacuum Packer, Scales & Labelling, Cryovac Machine, Tenderizer, Mincing & Dicing Machine
- Assist with warehouse & dispatching staff
- Performing general physical activities including lifting cartons and tubs
- Assisting with pack down & clean up
- Other tasks associated with assisting the butchers or production manager as required
Key Competencies, Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in packing, weighing and labelling
- Previous experience with Triton preferred but not essential
- Awareness of OH&S and Food Safety requirements
- Awareness of HACCP food safety program and the "cold chain" process in particular
- Enjoy practical and manual work
- Have good handeye coordination
- Ability to do quick and accurate work with hands
- Good communication skills
- Accurate with an eye for detail
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Motivated and Reliable
- Customer focused
- Ability to work in a team environment
