About Our Client:

My client operates in the mining & related industries. They have thousands of employees globally and have revenues in the billions of dollars. The business is a profitable and successful one, with realistic and ambitious growth plans.

Their Australian entity is smaller - with circa 300 staff across the country.

This is a hands on Payroll Officer position.

Working in a team of 2 staff total you'll be responsible for processing the pay for circa 300 staff across 3 entities (one fortnightly pay & two monthly).

You'll be responsible for a full function, end to end payroll


Key duties include:

  • Process payroll payments in line with company procedures
  • Maintaining employee records in the payroll system
  • Maintenance and user administration for the electronic timesheet system
  • Reconciliation of payroll records for annual & periodic returns
  • Management of End Of Period (month, quarter, year) payroll procedures including
General Ledger entries

  • Remittance of payrollrelated payments after obtaining necessary approvals, e.g.
superannuation, PAYG Tax, Payroll Tax, Workers Compensation premiums


The Successful Applicant:

A knowledge of the mining industry is nice to have

You will be able to work in Hendra and hold all relevant Australian working rights

  • Salary in the $80,000
  • $90,000 range + superannuation
  • Hendra location with parking available
  • 1 day weekly WFH
