Maxima's Recruitment Services are seeking a Procurement Specialist for a position with their Government client.


This is a temporary assignment working full-time hours, commencing in December and working through to June 2024, with the possibility of extension.


About the Company


Our client is responsible for the delivery of retail water supply and wastewater services across five Local Government areas in SEQ.


About the Role


The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for leading and development of procurement portfolios plans and will autonomously lead end to end procurement activities.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership and Direction: Lead and facilitate stakeholders at all levels of the business to achieve business outcomes.
  • Strategic Business Consultancy & Partnership: Lead the management of strategic partnering relationships to drive best practice outcomes by using a strategic advisory approach to achieve business outcomes. Key to this is your ability to influence, equip, enable and empower the business to effectively define and deliver value.
  • Category management: Lead, develop, implement and manage a portfolio of category plans in line with the organisations' business strategy to deliver synergies, cost savings and riskreduction, and/or optimisation of the portfolio to deliver best for business outcomes.
  • Contract management: Develop and handover tailored contract management and assurance plans for all contracts within assigned portfolio(s). Coordinate and conduct assurance activities on designated contracts.
  • Sourcing: Design and lead tailored end to end sourcing solutions. These activities include tender and evaluation preparation, tender release, tender evaluation, supplier negotiations, contract development and execution.

About You

  • Experience in procurement functions together with experience in the development and implementation of category plans and complex contractual arrangements.
  • Experience in influencing stakeholders and others to achieve specific end to end procurement outcomes within appropriate timeframes.
  • A customer centric procurement professional that delivers tailored solutions for your stakeholders
