About the BHP Project


Alstom has been providing sustainable infrastructure solutions in Australia for more than 100 years and is working on of the industry largest singinalling projects alongside BHP.

The project currently employs approximately 1,600 people across more than 25 sites that include Engineering centers, manufacturing facilities, project delivery offices and maintenance depots & workshops.

Alstom look to improve their operations of their networks through the provision of the latest, advanced signalling technologies including Interlockings, ETCS level 1 & 2 and CBTC for industrial rail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high quality and technically accurate procedures, technical reference guides and documentation.
  • Work with all key stakeholders to gather data for creation or revision of documentation.
  • Develop and maintain documentation hierarchy, content standards, formatting standards, and templates.
  • Improve document usability through content structure, formatting and proofreading.
  • Produce highquality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
  • Research, develop and document consistent, clear and concise technical documentation for a range of projects and requirements.
  • Demonstrated a good level process analysis and technical writing skills and experience in translating complex technical information.
  • An understanding of how to deliver high quality technical writing documents eg Maintainer Materials, Technical Materials, Quick Reference Guides and any required Technical Manuals.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • 12 years experience
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (MS Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Proficient level of written English (ILETS or equivalent).
  • Proficient level of MS Office.
  • Proficient level of English literacy.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Not Essential but advantageous)
