We are seeking a motivated and driven 1st-year Fitter and Turner Apprentice to join our team.

As an apprentice, you will learn the skills necessary to work in the mechanical engineering industry while earning a salary and completing a nationally recognized qualification.


What is a fitter and turner?


A Fitter & Turner is responsible for achieving maximum levels of machine uptime through the efficient and effective maintenance of plant & equipment.

The incumbent is also responsible for project work associated with new installations. The Fitter & Turner must observe safe work practices at all times


Responsibilities:


  • Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Use hand and power tools to machine and fit mechanical parts.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines.

To be considered for the role you will have:


  • Demonstrated interest in mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong problemsolving skills
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
