About the Role


Based at our Brisbane office, this position is responsible for the construction readiness activities required for civil, flowline gathering, and electrical construction works in Eastern Queensland, Cooper Basin, Northern Territory & Narrabri.


This position ensures the readiness for the civil & gathering construction works required for oil & gas production are executed to the required quality, budget, and schedule.

Accountabilities are delivered in line with the Santos company values and Santos Management System (SMS).

Key responsibilities of the role include:

Health, Safety & Environment_**- Actively engage with all relevant stakeholders on safety, environmental, cultural heritage, land access and third-party permit matters.


  • Ensure contractor personnel comply with the Santos Management System (SMS) and contractor safe work procedures through critical control verifications, interactions and participation in investigations, audits and toolbox meetings.
  • Recognise driving as the highrisk activity it is and always driving to conditions (as measured by IVMS index).
  • Promptly report or escalate all safety, environmental, cultural heritage and land access matters, incidents or near misses in accordance with DevEx's escalation procedure.

Culture_**- Develop and maintain healthy relationships with own team, contractors and other Santos stakeholders (e.g. land access).

  • Actively participate and promote healthy team culture.

Financials_**- Proactively contribute to Santos' lowest cost objectives through the challenging of design, contractor work methods and practices.

  • Submit timesheets correctly and on time.

Execution

  • Proactively minimise the risk of construction or well online schedule delays.
  • Challenge & continuously improve standard practices and work methods.
  • Manage Construction Phase and scope of works development for execution planning in collaboration with Project Engineer and relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor and collate Approval Documentation inclusive of Landowner Agreement, Cultural Heritage, Environment, and Third Party Permits
  • Review and confirm all required Approvals have been received for the Project Construction Scope, including completing compliance Quality Assurance for planned ground disturbance
  • Prepare, collate and issue Construction Award Notifications (CAN) to contractors.
  • Coordinate first disturbance monitoring requirements.

About You

We are seeking for professionals with experience in:

  • Working with large teams, and coordinating construction, maintenance, and shutdown projects, works planning or project management environment
  • Managing high level project priorities of safety, cost and quality through adherence to standards, procures and controls, as well as the maintenance of quality project documentation
  • Working across the business to achieve construction project deliverables within the team
  • Your strategic view, collaborative nature and ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders will aid in your success in this role
  • Ideally, you will be degree qualified in engineering, possess Trade qualifications, or industry experience with Upper Intermediate GIS mapping experience
  • You must have current and valid driver's licence and completed the core competencies / inductions in accordance with DevEx's Competency Matrix WPR0002
