As Principal Program Advisor, you will undertake a role in supporting, developing, publishing and improving the department's Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) - TMR's four-year, multi-billion dollar transport infrastructure investment program.

This includes contributing to and autonomously leading aspects of the Program, Funding and Analysis unit's core deliverables during the:

annual development, approval and publication of the QTRIP; management and performance reporting of the department's Corridor Preservation Investment Program (CPIP) (a subset of QTRIP); and QTRIP input to the annual State Budget process.

In addition, this role has a key focus in proactively leading business improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency of QTRIP processes and practices.

The role will include but is not limited to;

  • Providing quality support, analysis and advice in relation to various business improvement initiatives in the ongoing management and delivery of QTRIP and CPIP
  • Capturing lessons learned and identify areas of QTRIP and programming improvement
  • Managing the preparation and coordination of accurate, timely and complex documentation, communications and briefing material and submissions for approval by senior management associated with program and funding components of QTRIP.
  • Representing the business area in departmental meetings, working groups and committees as required, and influence outcomes and decisions where possible.
  • Responding to ad hoc requests from stakeholders in relation to QTRIP, and provide advice to nontechnical audiences.

  • Although not mandatory is proficient in the use of TMR's internal 3PCM (portfolio, program, project and contract management) system as well as Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint, would be highly regarded.
