Who is the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator?
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as a national entity responsible for
regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. Located in Brisbane, the NHVR minimises the
compliance burden on the heavy vehicle transport industry, reduces duplication and inconsistencies across state and
territory borders, and ultimately for the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia.

Environment

regulatory services and administration to the Australian heavy vehicle road transport sector, reducing regulatory burden
whilst enabling greater safety and productivity.

Position Description | Position Title

The Operations Division ensures the continued and improved effectiveness of operational processes and transactions for
customers and service users of the NHVR. The division is accountable for operational safety and compliance functions
across NHVR.


Primary Objectives
Provide administration and support services across the training and development function, including maintenance of
training schedules, management and maintenance of training records and general support to ensure the effective
delivery of training services.


Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Provide broad administrative support to the Training Team (OTT)
  • Coordinate Safety and Compliance Officer (SCO) training activities (ie., coordinate the trainees, trainers, 3rd party
providers, venues, and catering)

  • Develop and maintain the OTT training calendar
  • Develop and cont9inually improve OTT SharePoint sites (internal and externally facing)
  • Administration of the LITMOS learning management system for SCOs (course allocation, reporting)
  • Maintain recors management systemfor the Training Team
  • Assist in the preparation and hosting of training documents
  • Conduct basic quality assurance of assessment tasks and follow up overdue tasks
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across NHVR business units and external stakeholders
  • Ensure a high level of discretion, maturity, diplomacy and judgement in responding to enquiries
  • Adhere to all NHVR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NHVR internal processes
  • Comply with WH&S policies and procedures and contribute and promote a safe and health work environment

Skills and Capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage support services to achieve specific objectives and deliver expected
outcomes.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to manage effective relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team of people to provide highquality support
  • Experience in using key business systems, such as MS Office suite, SharePoint and online Learning Management
Systems

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications and Experience

Highly Regarded:


  • Administrative skills with a fous on customer service
  • Industry recognised qualifications and/or relevant experience in business administration and/or training.
  • Knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire working knowledge of heavy vehicle industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate across a range of internal and external clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience with learning management systems and project management
  • Demonstrated time management and prioritisation skills in a fast pace e
