Description

This is an exciting role for a senior data governance professional who has a strong strategic and analytical approach to their work.

The Data Governance Manager is responsible for taking a proactive lead on all matters concerning data governance across Swinburne.

The role will partner with a wide range of stakeholders and have high visibility across the university, to execute the data governance program of work and encourage a shift in the organisational culture and improve data governance literacy.


The role will focus on executing the Data Governance program of work underpinning the Enterprise Data strategy involving the completion, implementation and roll out of Swinburne's enterprise Data Governance framework across the institution.

This includes policies and procedures to embed across the university's operating model.

The data governance manager will need to advise on regulatory, privacy and protection requirements to support the strategic requirements of the business.

This role will develop and maintain a strong rapport with the Executive group and senior leaders, acting as a trusted and authoritative business partner on all data governance aspects.


About You
To be suitable for this role you must have experience and strong knowledge in:

  • Creating and implementing Data Governance strategies across the organisation in a Data Governance or data management lead role
  • Project managingd complex analytic and data governance projects/programs.
  • Delivering data governance solutions which meet business requirements and deliver tangible benefits.
  • Senior stakeholder engagement and communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/IT/Information Systems/Legal, or related discipline.
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and taining
