About the role

  • Provide a high standard of dental assisting support to the dental team in the treatment of patients including oral hygiene and pre and postoperative advice.
  • Prepare equipment, instruments and materials utilised in a variety of dental procedures including knowledge and understanding of the stages within a dental procedure and the ability to preplan and adapt as treatment proceeds.
  • Monitoring of, and assisting the operator in the management of patient wellbeing and anxiety levels and an awareness of medical conditions. Assist in the prevention, identification and management of medical emergencies.

The ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated high level of skill and knowledge in all aspects of dental assisting, including infection control, and clinical support for all relevant age groups.
  • Demonstrated high level ability to prioritise and organise workload and, where appropriate, to take initiative.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team or autonomously, utilise discretion in decision making and prioritising.


Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise and consult with all level of staff and patients, to manage conflict and to deal with sensitive and confidential matters appropriately.
