Role Type: 12 month Opportunity


The role is responsible for embedding and supporting the operational and compliance risk framework, associated reporting and stakeholder engagement across Group Compliance.


The purpose of the role is to support Group Compliance in the alignment of risk policy and business objectives, ensure activities undertaken remain within stated risk appetite, establish key controls in processes to mitigate associated risks, perform evidence based risk assessments, help manage business continuity risk and strategy, facilitate implementation and testing of information security controls and drive activities/initiatives that help enhance risk awareness and risk culture.

What will your day look like


This role is accountable for:

Manage and lead both the operational risk event reporting process and compliance incident reporting including, monitoring systemic issues and subsequent action take; use reporting trends to identify and develop projects and awareness initiatives

Work with business partners to develop processes to identify control gaps and implement effective controls to protect ANZ from financial losses, money laundering activities, reputational damage or regulatory action.

Manage and lead awareness and understanding of Risk and Compliance throughout the Business Unit
Ensure expectation of stakeholders are understood and met.
Establish and foster relationships with key Business Units and across the Business Governance & Controls function.
Regularly review processing efficiencies of risk controls & treatment plans. Operating Risk identification, including risk profiles, risk register, risk assessment, risk libraries & risk treatment plans
Ensure that all activities conducted comply with ANZ group governance requirements, polices, processes and standards and with legal and regulatory requirements
What will you bring?
Exposure to and thorough understanding of Identify Assess and Manage (I.AM) Framework (or similar experience in implementing group level frameworks)
Proven ability to work in a team and proactively contribute ideas to continuously improve team performance.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in developing solutions to complex operational risk problems.
Strong knowledge and experience of Control Management e.g. Key Control Development and Assessment
Demonstrated track record of working to deadlines and being efficient and organised in all operations.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
Good Communication Skills (Written and Verbal)
