How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne


The Executive Assistant will support the Director of City Strategy through the provision of administrative support and coordination ensuring the smooth running of the business area within a political, complex and multi-faceted organisational environment.

On occasion, the role may be required to support any of the Directors and/or General Managers based on the needs of the organisation.


The City Strategy branch strategically plans for the city through the core functions of City Planning, Precinct Delivery, Transport Strategy, Heritage Strategy, Infrastructure Planning and Planning Policy.

These functions operate collaboratively to deliver key Council Plan Actions and visioning for the future.

What you will bring...(selection criteria)

  • Sound experience to review and prepare documents to a high quality level which are fit for business purpose.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment supporting productive relationships with people at all levels.
  • Ability to develop, implement and maintain sound systems and processes to drive efficiency across administrative functions whilst leading and educating others within a continuous improvement environment.
