The Role


Our Family and Child Connect have an opportunity for a motivated and passionate Family Response Facilitator to join the team.

This role is Permanent Part-time offering 4 days a week located in Toowoomba with the potential to become a Full-time Permanent role after a year.

The successful applicant will provide culturally appropriate advice to other team members, develop relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander partners and engage directly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, to assess family needs and referring to culturally appropriate services.


To perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal person or Torres Strait Islander person and is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25, 104 and 105 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).


To be eligible for this position you will require (Key Selection Criteria):

  • 3
  • or 4-year tertiary qualification in Child Protection, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related discipline; or relevant Diploma or Certificate with previous relevant experience.
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of the Queensland child protection system and issues that impact on families.
  • Demonstrated intermediate ability to use computer IT systems including MS Word and Excel.
  • You must hold a Queensland Provisional Green (P2) or above Driver Licence.
  • Ability to obtain positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.
  • Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement, unless an applicable exemption is provided.

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $35.77 to $39.26 plus superannuation (dependent on qualifications and experience). You will also have the opportunity to increase your take-home pay by salary sacrificing and other benefits.
