Position Information:


Oran Park High, which opened at the start of the 2020 school year, and now has students in Years 7 to 11, is a future focused learning partnership with high expectations that meet the individual needs of all learners.

Housed in brand new, state-of-the-art facilities, the school has a strong focus on relationships, high quality and innovative teaching and learning, and links to the local and wider community, particularly the partner primary schools.


Built to meet the population needs of the Oran Park/Catherine Park/Gledswood Hills growth corridor the school with eventually be home to up to 2000 students, including a Support Unit catering for the needs of students with Autism and Multi-Categorical diagnoses.

The school currently has 1167 students (5.5% aboriginal), 85 teaching and 16 support staff but this number will grow rapidly over the coming years as it moves towards full capacity, with its first Year 12 cohort sitting for the HSC credential in 2024.


Selection Criteria:


  • Approval to teach Music and approval and/or preparedness to undertake VET Entertainment Industry training.
  • Ability to design and deliver innovative teaching and learning programs to improve student outcomes.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively as an effective team member within the CAPA faculty and contribute to whole school programs.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively to build positive relationships with students, staff and the wider school community.

Special Notes:


Teachers from all key learning areas with recent and relevant industry experience and/or qualifications can seek entry to the VET Entertainment Industry teacher training program through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Applications must be supported by primary documented evidence of recent and relevant industry experience and/or qualifications mapped against the competencies to be delivered in schools.

Application for RPL is made to and reviewed only by the Application Review Committee (ARC).
