Description

Regional and Spatial Planning team is responsible for the development, review and monitoring of regional plans that facilitate outcomes focused on addressing existing and emerging land use planning issues of regional significance.

Regional plans are developed to align with the state's interest in planning and development, as well as enhance Queensland's economic, social and environmental opportunities.

The Regional and Spatial Team program delivery is based on collaboration with local government, key industry groups and the wider community, ensuring the aspirations of all regional stakeholders are considered.

Spatial planning is undertaken for identified sites where there are particular state planning interests or development matters that need to be resolved.

Spatial planning typically involves the preparation of a blueprint for the area and often includes investigations into appropriate land use options, physical environment constraints, infrastructure requirements, community values and expectations and tenure arrangements.
