The Role
We have several policy and analyst vacancies at the APS5 level across our four teams.
Depending on the specific position, you will undertake a range of the duties set out below.

Intelligence Strategy and Policy

  • Develop and provide policy advice on a range of Defence, wholeofgovernment and international intelligence issues.
  • Engage with a range of stakeholders to facilitate a One Defence approach to key intelligence policy issues, including reviews, legislation, and enterprise related matters.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Defence Intelligence Enterprise (DIE) Strategy, and the development and implementation of subordinate frameworks and policy positions.
  • Contribute to the management of the DIG's strategic international partner engagement function, including working closely with international partners and facilitating seniorlevel engagements.
Intelligence Priorities and Mission

  • Support the Defence Intelligence Prioritisation Framework, which provides the strategic direction to the DIE.
  • Ensure Defence's intelligence equities are integrated within the National Intelligence Community mission management framework.
  • Develop datadriven business intelligence to support the ongoing evaluation of performance and effectiveness against present intelligence requirements and future access needs.
  • Enable the Defence Intelligence Prioritisation Steering Group and other intelligence prioritisation governance bodies, including through secretariat duties.
  • Develop input and provide policy advice on a range of Defence, NIC and wholeof government issues.
Partnership Coordination Office

  • Support collaboration and partnership with a key Defence stakeholder agency.
  • Assist in engagement with diverse internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Government direction.
  • Assist in the development of policy advice to the Chief of Defence Intelligence to support strategic partnership outcomes, and work closely with wholeofgovernment stakeholders to implement strategic direction.
DIG Intelligence Hub

  • Support the daytoday operations of the Hub and working collaboratively with our partners and stakeholders to achieve required outcomes.
  • Assist with access to high quality intelligence within the facility for key Defence stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of relationships within many areas of Defence.
  • Support the Secretariat to the Intelligence Enterprise Committee
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Hub engagement and information sharing strategy.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a datadriven business analytics capability to support the ongoing evaluation of intelligence reporting provided through the Hub network.
