Are you passionate about workplace health, safety, and environmental practices? Do you have experience in developing and maintaining OHS&E systems? Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive WHS Coordinator to join their team.

As the WHS Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading, developing, implementing, and managing the Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHS&E) system and practices within the relevant scope.

You will work closely with the division's quality department and Business Unit Managers to ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental obligations.


Responsibilities:


  • Work directly with the Business Line Leader for the relevant scope and collaborate with the division's quality department and Business Unit Managers.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and management of the OHS&E system and practices.
  • Ensure effective and proactive management of all relevant health, safety, and environmental obligations.
  • Develop appropriate systems to address incidents and issues, following established processes.
  • Create and continuously improve a health, safety, and environmental culture within the division.
  • Work in accordance with applicable Health and Safety legislation, regulations, and Business Line/Business Unit OHS policy.
  • Take practical and reasonable steps to maintain a safe working environment and report hazards, incidents, accidents, and risks.
  • Participate in safety meetings, provide feedback, and contribute to safety initiatives.
  • Comply with hazard/risk management processes, incident and accident reporting responsibilities, and site safety requirements.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Relevant Occupational Health and Safety qualification.
  • Experience in developing, delivering, and evaluating OHS services.
  • Strong people management, communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, developing, and implementing health and safety compliance programs and management systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated reporting capabilities.
