About the Building Maintenance Team:

The Building Maintenance team is critical in ensuring the building infrastructure is maintained so there are no disruptions to the Critical research carried out at QIMR_.

Role Purpose / Responsibilities:

As a Dual Trade Electrician / Refrigeration Technician you will be customer focused and responsible for repairing wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment along with managing the effective maintenance of refrigeration equipment.

The following duties will apply:

Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures as per layout and installation of electrical wiring and job specifications.
Diagnose malfunctioning refrigeration systems and components to ascertain the cause of a breakdown and provide resolution.
Carry out repairs and or replace identified faulty components within licence scope, i.e. Electrical/Mechanical components within a relevant system.
Inspect electrical systems equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and provide recommendation for adjustment or repair as per compliance with relevant codes.
Test electrical systems and circuits in wiring, equipment and fixtures using relevant devices to ensure system safety.
The provision of detailed and accurate record keeping of site maintenance and installations.

About you:

You are a fully qualified electrician with an unrestricted/open licence & you have electrical/refrigeration qualifications & experience.
Current/relevant QBCC Licence and qualifications in refrigeration and electrical dual trade
Current Australian National Arctic Refrigerant Handling Licence
Current Australian driver's licence
Proven experience in the commercial and industrial maintenance of refrigeration and electrical equipment within the building services industry including strong knowledge of fault finding and diagnosis.
Solid understanding of the relevant codes and industry standards within the field of work
Current CPR/LVR
Previous experience in facilities maintenance, and the ability to work autonomously
The ability to work as part of an on call/after hours roster

Remuneration:

Salary range is $82,214 to $89,010 p.a. plus super and salary packaging. This is a permanent full-time appointment.
