DEPARTMENT:
The Alfred Health Public Affairs and Communications Department is responsible for the organisation's strategic reputational management, ensuring that its brand position and stakeholder relationships contribute to achieving the organisation's long-term goals.
The group is responsible for corporate communications, external affairs, media relations, government relations, community engagement as well as internal communication.
POSITION:
Alfred Health's Public Affairs and Communications team is based at The Alfred, and is looking for a talented Media and Communications Advisor.
Reporting to the Head of External Affairs and Media, the Media and Communications Advisor requires broad media relations and communications skills to maintain and raise the health service's profile in a competitive environment.
The role requires the coordination of proactive and strategic media opportunities, the development of integrated media campaigns, support for the organisation's growing social media profile, and work on major external events.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Undergraduate degree in a related discipline included Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences and/or Journalism.
- Three to five years' experience in public affairs or a related discipline.
- Experience in working directly in the media or within an inhouse media department.
- Experience in health care is an advantage
