***: The Events Adviser plans and delivers professional, high-quality events for departmental programs, with a focus on internal events such as all staff forums and departmental awards.


You will produce high quality event documentation, including event briefings, logístical information and run sheets, in line with agreed event processes and templates and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of all information.

You will have excellent communication skills, project management skills and ability in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


The incumbent will work closely with branch colleagues, senior executives, and relevant business areas within the department to ensure that delivery of events is efficient, cost-effective, and is clearly aligned to the department's strategic plan.


Accountabilities

  • Ensure corporate communications are audience and insights led, so staff know what is happening across the department, how it affects them and where they can access support or get involved.
  • Work collaboratively and in alignment with the department's strategic narrative, responding to emergent priorities and being proactive in building strong, and purposedriven relationships with audiences and stakeholders.
  • Forge strong connections across the department, contribute to forward planning processes and enable the effective operation of the department's communications and engagement business partnership approach.
  • Assist in identifying and managing emerging issues and areas of risk for government, department, and the community.
  • Provide timely advice and assist in developing open and effective communication strategies including collection of highly complex, contentious, or sensitive information on matters of staff or business.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
