About the Role:


As a Specialist Project Delivery within Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO) Asset Projects, you will be actively involved in the delivery of a range of challenging projects across our Pilbara and Port Hedland sites.

This role will offer development and challenge to develop as a Project Management professional.


Success in this role will be achieved through engagement with BHP stakeholders, external design consultants, construction contractors and materials suppliers.

You will actively support the project management of the execution, handover, commissioning and close-out phases of multi-disciplinary projects.


This position can be offered as FIFO from Perth on a 5/2, 4/3 flexible roster in the Pilbara and Port Hedland region.


In this role you will:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety by actively engaging in the BHP Field Leadership program.
  • Support the project management of projects up to $250M execution, commissioning, handover and closeout phases
  • Ensure compliance to BHP Group, Business, and Asset level requirements, statutory regulations and standards, and relevant BHP site standards and specifications
  • Provide input into strategic plans, budgets and targets, and ensure compliance for projects under your control
  • Perform regular evaluation of project risks and implement controls where necessary. Regular field verification of risk controls will be required
  • Provide regular project progress reports, across various platforms, to all stakeholders.
  • Hold a high standard of personal operational discipline, and establish routines necessary for safe and efficient project delivery
  • Regularly liaise with other project teams and operational functions across WAIO to provide sharing of knowledge and aid continual improvement in project delivery

About You:


  • Formal qualifications (trade or degree) in Engineering, technical or an aligned discipline
  • Experience with project management
  • A proactive, selfdriven team player who operates with honesty and integrity
  • Experienced in mining and minerals processing, or other similar heavy industrial sectors
  • Ability to manage internal stakeholders and external consultants and contractors
  • Good time management skills with an ability to managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing abilities
  • Solution focused with the ability to work well under pressure
  • An agile thinker with the ability to collaborate with others to achieve results
  • The ability to work effectively with others and provide constructive feedback where appropriate
