Full Time Fixed Term - Commencing February 2023 (Flexible start)

The Pauline Gandel Women's Imaging Centre (PGWIC) has two departments, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ultrasound and Radiology. The role we are advertising is in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ultrasound Department.

The team provides obstetric, gynaecological, tertiary referral scanning and diagnostic procedures for women equating to more than 7000 pregnancies per year.

The Department is accredited with RANZCOG for subspecialty training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology Ultrasound.


This is a world-class department and often sought after by international experts for sabbaticals, research collaborations and for opinions on complex presentations.

Your contribution

  • Contribute to the Royal Women's Hospital and Department as a member of the team building departmental capability; leading and coaching according to the needs of the department and training program.
  • Provide response to prioritised referrals for women needing obstetric, gynaecological, scanning and diagnostic procedures.
  • Consult with nursing, medical, allied health staff
  • Ensure best practice by using evidenced based practice and a philosophy of individualised support for the woman and her family.
Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Work within an integrated, multidisciplinary team to provide safe assessment for women
  • Provide highlevel clinical supervision to the registrars and sonography staff and students as appropriate.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary training sessions and orientation sessions as requested.

About you
To be successful within this role you will need to have:

  • Significant experience in obstetrics and gynaecology and hold MRANZCOG or FRANZCOG or equivalent
  • Professional and clinical leadership and participation
  • Experience providing supervision to staff or students
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal skills
  • Capacity to foster good relationships
  • Positive "can do" attitude
