The City of Perth is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Officer to work within the Properties Unit to maintain properties owned or operated by the City.

This role will interact with City staff across all facilities whilst undertaking maintenance tasks and inspections. The officer may also encounter and engage with the general public, elected members, and contractors.

As the Facilities Maintenance Officer, you will support the City by:

  • Responding to reported faults, failures, and damage reported by City staff and the general public and completing repairs or advising a scope of works to be passed on to external contractors.
  • Inspecting City properties, identifying maintenance issues, and providing feedback to the Facilities, Projects, and Asset Management teams for rectification or to be included in forward planning of capital works and maintenance activities.
  • Carrying out minor maintenance works including, but not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, globe replacements, painting, graffiti removal, general repair and maintenance duties.
  • Overseeing minor building maintenance works and small refurbishment projects undertaken by contractors.
To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge and experience in facility maintenance practices. Sound knowledge and understanding of industry standards, including BCA, Standards Australia and OSH legislation is essential.

You will possess well-developed written and verbal communication skills, along with high-level customer service skills.
