Are you seeking a leadership role in Quality Innovation & Safeguards division?**The Quality Strategy and Risk Division are looking for a Quality Manager for a 12 month maternity leave position commencing in late September/early October 2023.


The Divisional Quality Manager (DQM) will provide leadership, coordination and supportive advice within the Home and Living and Specialist Services to achieve safe and effective person centred supports for clients.


Working in partnership with the Chief Practitioner, Director Quality and Safeguards within the Quality Innovations and Safeguards Division and the Directors Home and Living and Specialist Services, Group Managers and Services Managers across the Home and Living and Specialist Services Divisions, the DQM will be accountable for leading and managing the Home and Living and Specialist Services Divisions to prepare for and deliver on the NDIS Practice standards and other applicable regulatory and legislative requirements.

In addition, this role will contribute to the development and implementation of the Home and Living and Specialist Services Divisions quality improvement plans, as well as be accountable for the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives across the divisions.


Key Responsibilities:


Quality Improvement Documentation and Implementation

  • Lead the preparation and achievement of audit, accreditation and other applicable legislative and regulatory requirements across the Home and Living and Specialist Services Divisions.
  • Provide support and advice to the senior management on legislative and regulatory requirements such as key NDIS legislation, NDIS Practice Standards and Human Services Standards.
  • Provide effective support and leadership in quality, safety and improvement to the divisional leadership team.
  • Participate in La Trobe person centred active support longitudinal study and provide consultation and support to senior managers to ensure PCAS is being provided to clients.
  • Develop, communicate and advise on divisional quality improvement documentation, including specific procedures and manuals in relation to the NDIS Practice Standards.
  • Coordinate the Home and Living and Specialist Services Divisions peer audit program and analyse and prepare reports, including improvement actions.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Quality and Safeguards and Home and Living and Specialist Services Division Group Managers, review and analyse incident, complaint, feedback and compliment data.
  • With the support of the Directors of Home and Living and Specialist Services Division coordinate quality improvement initiatives/projects/activities to drive, review and improve service delivery as per the NDIS Practice standards
  • Develop and implement the accreditation audit preparation schedule for Home and Living and Specialist Services Divisions.
  • Develop and coordinate the implementation of an annual quality compliance calendar across the Home and Living and Specialist Services Divisions.
  • Coordinate, conduct and liaise with all stakeholders in internal and external audit processes in collaboration with the Director of Quality and Safeguards.
  • Participate in project initiatives and working groups as required.
  • Provide briefings, reports and presentations on quality improvement initiatives and achievements.
  • As required, provide training and support for staff on key NDIS Practice Standards and other quality processes.

Emergency Management and Disaster Response Planning and Documentation**- Liaise with the OHS Manager in relation to the preparation and documentation of Bushfire, Flood and emergency procedures including Fire and Emergency Response Manuals.

  • Liaise, develop and maintain the Home and Living and Specialist Services Divisions Fire Certification program in collaboration with the Contracts and Infrastructure Manager.
  • Develop and coordinate the implementation of the Person Centred Emergency Plans for all clients across the Home and Living and Specialist Services Divisions.

Mandatory Requirements

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • International Police Check (if applicable)
  • Current driver's licence to drive in Australia. Due to the nature of this role flexibility to travel may be required.

Qualifications*:


  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent, desirable post graduate qualifications in a relevant field

Professional Experience:


  • Background in disability support services, community services or health would be desirable
  • Demonstrate project management ability promoting evidence informed approaches
  • Possess familiarity with var
