Procurement Coordinator, Pacific Labour Facility - Brisbane

Project Overview:

The Pacific Labour Facility (PLF) facilitates seasonal and longer-term work opportunities for Pacific workers in Australia.

It connects Australian employers with Pacific workers under the newly introduced Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme which combines the existing Pacific Labour Scheme (PLS) and Seasonal Worker Programme (SWP).


Role Overview:


The Procurement Coordinator will be responsible for the planning and coordination of procurement activities to assist in the management of the Pacific Labour Facility (PLF).

This is a junior level position.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lead procurement activities in line with the Australian Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR's) and Palladium
  • Procurement policies and guidelines
  • Support proactive management of internal and external stakeholders to ensure timeframes for priority procurements are adhered to
  • Receive and review procurement requests from the team, identifying additional specifications and missing detail and supporting clear specifications and scopes of services
  • Manage tendering processes for major procurement initiatives ensuring it is delivered in accordance with guidelines
  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities in the program contract database
  • Develop a calendar of proactive internal auditing and undertake internal spot checks of program procurement and contract management

Required Qualifications:


  • Relevant handson experience in procurement, preferably with exposure to Government procurement practices (a few years of experience only, this is a junior level position)
  • Strong understanding of the full procurement cycle
  • Effective stakeholder engagement experience with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and proactive problem solving abilities
  • Excellent organisational and computer skills especially with MS Word and Excel
  • Proven strong written and verbal communication skills;
