About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and innovative Lifestyle Programs Coordinator to support home care clients in our Retirement Living Villages with activities designed to maintain and support social interaction and independence.
Anglicare has a number of community centre-based Social Support/ Respite groups and overnight respite Cottages operating across Sydney, the Blue Mountains and Illawarra.
Our programs are designed to be fun and enabling environments, offering interesting recreational activities that are based on what our clients like to do, such as games, dancing, exercise, arts (painting and pottery), crafts, movies, cooking and outings.
Working as part of this friendly and close-knit team, reporting to the Senior Program Manager, your focus will be (not limited to):- Offering activities and outings suited to the individuals interests, capacity and background, and delivered in safe and comfortable environments;
- Appropriate assessments and care plans are completed, and within operational guidelines;
- Liaising with key representatives in the Retirement Living Villages;
- Coordinating and scheduling activities, by working closely with the team leaders and lifestyle workers;
- Developing and maintaining a culture of exceptional customer service, aligned with the organisation's Christian vision, mission, and values;
- Managing finances efficiently, ensuring activities operate within allocated budgets;
- Reporting and administrative requirements including service output confirmations, compliance, staff scheduling, and client records are managed promptly and accurately to meet team and organisation requirements;
- Willingness to travel across sites.
Skills and Experience:
- Certificate IV in Leisure and Health/Community Services or appropriate equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in Home Care/Community/Aged Care in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully organising activities for older people.
- Superior skills in communication including a demonstrated ability to work with older people, people living with dementia and their families/advocates.
- Required: C Class motor vehicle licence, registered vehicle with third party property damage insurance.; LR Licence as required.
- Intermediate computer skills.
