Description

The Clinical Assistant, Genomics will work both independently and as a team member, cooperating and communicating effectively with those in the immediate workplace and the wider work environment.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge and skills, or ability to acquire knowledge and skill, of the operational requirements of a molecular pathology facility including specimen reception, nucleic acid extraction, data entry and the correct procedures for handling biological specimens.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team member under the direction of more senior practitioners, to produce an effective work output and work quality.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, client focus and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures; and relevant legislative, administrative, and professional standards, including NATA / ISO / TGA accreditation / certification requirements

  • Nil.
  • While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD and Covid-19 Vaccination) requirements

  • It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID19 (Health Employment Directive No. 12/21 and Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
  • It will be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: Hepatitis A & B, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis, Rubella and Varicella.
  • Additional vaccinations including Japanese Encephalitis and Rabies may also be required for this position.
