The More Trains, More Services program will simplify and modernise the rail network creating high capacity, turn up and go services for many customers.

It means customers can expect more frequent train services, with less wait times, less crowding on a simpler and more reliable network.

We are currently looking for a People Coordinator to join a Sydney based project.

You will work closely with the project providing HR support on matters such as recruitment, on-boarding, training and development, performance management, remuneration and cultural diversity.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in all human resource matters, as directed by the Senior People Advisor
  • Provide assistance in the implementation of Policies, procedures, programs and initiatives, in alignment with the business needs
  • Support new employees as directed during their onboarding, which may include coordinating inductions
  • Establish good working relationships with the business community
  • Prepare human resource related documents, presentations, and statistics/data for employees and managers
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the Senior People Advisor on initiatives or programs of work
  • Use appropriate systems and software to store and maintain employee's personal records.
  • Generate reports as required from various databases, which may include information on absenteeism, annual leave, training, licences, qualifications, and performance management data
  • Assist with payroll, benefits and compensation administration
  • Support apprentice and trainees during onboarding and secondments
  • Coordinate the probation review process, which may include issuing and following up on probation documentation
  • Support managers on employment matters such as discipline, remuneration, termination and any grievances
  • Communicate cultural awareness and diversity initiatives
  • Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems and procedures.

To be successful you will:


  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources
  • 13 years' experience in a Human Resource administrative role
  • Knowledge of human resource practices and procedures
  • Ability to build and develop good working relationships
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant software such as Microsoft Office Suite
